THE NOTICE NUMBER

Emotionally, you're ready today. Practically, you need the number.

For moms who have a job and a business on the side, and a dream of going full time.

We go through your personal numbers and your business numbers together, one on one, and figure out exactly what your business needs to make before you can give your notice.

YOUR NEXT THREE STEPS
Written for your life, your job and your business

Example. Yours lands in your inbox within about 24 hours of our time together.

Your job is fine. You're good at it. But your business is your dream, and it's working. It's asking for more of your time, and right now it only gets what's left over.

What's stopping you isn't belief. It's the number. How much does your business need to make before you can leave your job? And when could you give your notice?

That's what we figure out together. It includes a follow-up session for your questions and any changes to your plan.

This is for you if

  • You have a job working for someone else, and a business on the side with real customers and real revenue.

  • You've asked yourself "could I actually do this?" more than once this year.

  • You're worried there's a cost you haven't thought of.

  • You keep comparing your business to your salary, and it never seems close enough.

  • You want someone who knows numbers to look at yours and tell you the truth, kindly.

HOW WE FIND IT

Start with your family, not your salary

Most women I talk to compare their business to their paycheck. But your paycheck was never built around your life. Your family might need more than it, or less.

  • START WITH
What your life costs, month to month

  • THEN ADD
What your job pays for now, like health insurance and retirement savings

  • YOUR NOTICE NUMBER
What your business needs to make each month before you can give your notice

Once you see it, you can stop guessing.

What we work through together

We meet one on one, on Zoom. Bring your partner if you'd like, at no extra cost. We record it, so you can watch it again, together if you want to.

  1. Your life
What your household spends each month, what your job pays for now, and anything coming up at work, like a bonus or open enrollment.

  2. Your business
What it's making now, and where it's heading.

  3. Your number and your date
How much your business needs to make each month, and when you could give your notice at the pace your business is growing now.

  4. Your systems
How money moves through your business today, and the setup you'll want before you go, so you still get paid on the 15th, just like now.

It gets deep, and I'm here for it all. Bring the money, the job, your partner and the fears too. You haven't done anything wrong, and there's no one right way to get here.

What you walk away with

  • Your Notice Number Report, in your inbox within about 24 hours. It has your number, your notice date and your next steps.

  • The recording of our time together.

  • A follow-up session a week or two later, booked before we hang up, for your questions and any changes to your plan.

What to have ready

Nothing has to be perfectly organized. Bring what you have:

  • Your most recent tax return, or the last two or three years if you have them.

  • What your business has made this year, in whatever form it lives: a spreadsheet, bank statements or bookkeeping software.

  • A rough guess at what your household spends each month. A guess is fine. You can send me the real number within the week, and I'll update your report.

Why me

I'm Gabbie Kelly. I spent 15+ years in auditing, accounting and CFO consulting, and I teach graduate accounting to MBA students at the University of New Hampshire. I left corporate in 2022, as a mom, to build The Profit Mama. Long before that, I was homeless as a teenager.

I've done this math for my own family, and I plan my days around school pickup because I live it.

"For all the motivation and action I have in all other areas of my life, I get, like, paralyzed with this."

M., who went full time about three months after working through her numbers with me

Questions you might have

What if my business isn't far enough along?

Then you'll know exactly how far it has to go, and roughly when, instead of guessing.

What if the answer is "not yet"?

Then "someday" becomes a date, with the steps to get there.

I have an accountant and a spreadsheet. Isn't that enough?

They tell you what happened. This tells you what it means for your family, and when you can go.

Can my partner join?

Yes, at no extra cost. Many women find it helps to look at the numbers together, and the recording means you can watch it again together too.
